It is located at the tenth mile, hence the name, via Cassia. It appears mentioned for the first time in a document from Badia to Passignano, dated 884. Near the parish church, in the first half of the 13th century, there was a castle that administered one of its districts, of which there are no traces. Over time, he saw fewer and fewer canons, and the parish priests neglected him, ruining them so much that, in 1440, Pope Eugene IV joined him in the monastery of San Donato in Scopeto. In 1445, he regained full autonomy. Between 1728 and 1730, by the rector Borghigiani, the interior of the church was transformed according to the Baroque style, seven altars were erected and the interior was decorated with stucco. Significant restoration work was carried out after the 1895 earthquake, in which the church building suffered extensive damage. The building has the typical layout of the Romanesque basilica, with a roof covering, and its origin should have ended with an apse.
