This is mainly a dawn shooting point and it is recommended for the blue hour. I advise that you
arrive 45 minutes before the sunrise to catch beautiful hue in the sky. It is recommended to use a
gradient filter of neutral density with a soft transition to 0.6 ND. Start shooting with a long shutter
speed without additional filters of neutral density. Recommended exposure time is 1-2 seconds.
When it becomes lighter, it is advisable to use a polarizing filter, which will remove unnecessary
glare; continue working with a long shutter speed. The most beautiful shots are obtained in the
campfire sunlight. I recommend using a wide-angle optics, min 16mm. The best shots are obtained
near the ice floes. In this case, you need to use high shoe covers to keep your feet dry. The strength
and stability of the tripod is of great importance; after shooting, remember to wash the sand and
salt water from the tripod with fresh water. This shooting point is one of the coldest, even in good
weather, so it is advisable to dress very warmly and bring a warm flask. Additionally, you can get
beautiful photos of ice floes by using macro lenses.
